ABOUT TAMARA
Tamara Treichel (B App Sci (App Psych), Grad Dip App Sci (App Psych), M Psych (Clin), MAPS) is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience in working with adults, adolescents and children presenting with a range of emotional and behavioural mental health concerns. Having completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology she has a special interest in anxiety related issues and is a big believer in the concept of 'radical self-acceptance' as a measure of optimal mental health.
Tamara uses a client-focused approach, drawing on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Functional Analytical Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Schema and Interpersonal Therapy, to develop individual treatment plans unique to each client. She has worked within government, community, hospital and private settings and has managed her own clinical practices in Brisbane, Regional Queensland and the Sunshine Coast for the past 15 years.
When she is not in the clinic Tamara can be found on one of the many Sunshine Coast forest trails with her dog, Quinn, at the beach relaxing or trying to surf, growing her own vegetables (and killing alot of them too), learning the art of meditation from her cat, Dave, and hanging out with family and friends (usually on an outdoor adventure). She is a big believer in creating a value-based lifestyle.
Tamara is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS). As such she abides by the APS Code of Ethics and Client Charter.
